Tasmania’s commission of inquiry found school children were “simply disbelieved” when they reported sexual abuse by teachers. Multiple abuse survivors spoke about how they tried to report the abuse but were fobbed off and their abusers continued to work in schools.
The commissioners wrote they are “concerned that there may still be people working with children who are the subject of child sexual abuse allegations who have not been investigated”.
