Scene 1: Emma stands on stage giving a speech running for prom queen. Cut to Jason on the football field scoring the winning touchdown. Emma and Jason lock eyes glaring at each school event.
Scene 2: Mrs. Wilson partners Emma and Jason for a major history project worth 30% of their grade. They reluctantly agree though clearly still hostile toward each other.
Scene 3:
Emma and Jason meet in the library to start researching their historical figure. They struggle to collaborate, insulting each other’s ideas and work ethics. Jason accuses Emma of being too type A. Emma says at least she cares about her future unlike Jason who coasts by on football.
Scene 4: They continue meeting to work on their project begrudgingly. One late night study session, Jason snaps at Emma for critiquing his writing too harshly. He reveals he has a learning disability which makes school really difficult for him.
Scene 5: Emma sees Jason in a new light and apologizes for judging him too quickly. Jason also apologizes for resenting Emma’s academic success when it’s actually inspirational how hard she works. They agree to help balance out each other’s weaknesses and strengths.
Scene 6:
Working together they create an amazing history presentation. The teacher praises their teamwork. Emma and Jason high five realizing they make a great team. They attend prom together shocking the student body.
