West rethinks China’s Belt and Road plan as debt fears grow | DW Business Special

China’s Belt and Road Initiative is a trillion-dollar project launched 10 years ago that tries to boost Chinese trade and political influence around the globe. But growing debt fears means many countries are taking a closer look at the project.

Belt and Road specialist Francesca Ghiretti from the Mercator Institute for China Studies tells us how Chinese leader Xi Jinping’s links to the project means China will fight to make it a success.
